Treasures of Egypt continues to surprise me again and again. I want to write a really interesting news about Egypt today. Because I got very excited when I read this. The news is too fresh and when I get more, I will update and add more photographs.
American and Egyptian archaeologists has uncovered the oldest beer factory of history. It is 5100 years old. The discovery is located in the south of Egypt, Abydos area of Suhac city. Abydos is more than 450 km away from Cairo and it is an old cemetery. Abydos is known with monuments which honor underworld god Osiris.
Tourism and Antiquities Ministry of Egypt has announced that they have detected a 5100 years old beer factory in Abydos city which has capacity of producing thousands litres of beer. It is estimated that the factory was constructed in 3100s BC, King Narmer Era.
Archaeologists have found eight big cups and the cups are 20 metres long and 2,5 metres broad. They have also found evidences that indicate ancient Egyptians have used beer in ritual sacrifice.
Ancient Egyptians could produce nearly 22400 litres of beer here. Archaeologists have also detected 40 cups made of clay. These clay cups have been used to heat mixture of cereal and water. The necropolis were active from prehistoric era to Roman era in Egyptian history.
Tourism and Antiquities Ministry of Egypt has announced that the new discovered beer factory will revive tourism in Egypt. Egypt tourism has hard days because of corona virus epidemic like other countries all over the world.
